Climbup Insect Interceptors used to monitor and trap bed bugs

NightWatch Bed Bug Trap and Monitor
NightWatch Bed Bug Trap and Monitor, created by Biosensory is designed as a lure and monitor to help determine if you have bed bugs. By mimicking a living, breathing person, it releases CO2, heat, and a patented lure (kairomone) to attract bed bugs. When bed bugs approach to feed on what they think is a human, they fall into the pitfall traps and cannot escape. The NightWatch Trap and Monitor can be programmed to release the chemical attractants during the night when bed bugs are most active.

Man’s Best Friend: the Latest Tool in Bed Bug Detection

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

By Erica Goodrich

Inspection canines go through intensive training to detect bed bugs.

Believe it or not, dogs are the latest weapon being used in the fight against bed bugs. Bed bugs are small, oval-shaped, flat insects that can be hard to detect. The nose of a bed bug dog has the ability to sniff out as little as one live bed bug or just one viable bed bug egg. The reason for this is that dogs have somewhere between 20 to 40 times the number of nasal receptors as humans, making it easy for them to detect even the faintest of odors.

Say No to “Do-It-Yourself” Bed Bug Control

Monday, December 27th, 2010

By Elaine Gammon

We know bed bugs are nasty pests and if you find them in your home, the first thing you want to do is get rid of them as soon as possible. However, popular, “do-it-yourself” pesticide treatments including bug bombs, repellent sprays, natural oils, and store bought chemical applications are not recommended. In fact, applying pesticides on your own or improperly using pesticides will not only prove to be ineffective, the results can also be dangerous to your home and your family’s health.
