Modern Pest Services has been located in Augusta Maine since the early 1960's when founder Howard Stevenson purchased what was then Doten's market located on Bangor Street. This building was to become Modern's first service center. Since then Modern has grown and opened six other service centers throughout Maine and New England. In July 2007 Modern finally outgrew the Bangor Street location and moved to a much larger facility located at 4 Industrial Drive, Augusta, ME 04330. Ken Murphy joined the Modern team in September of 1991 as one of nine fulltime service professionals. Over the past 16 years Ken has worked a variety of positions; service professional , service manager, Modern's first company trainer, and then General Manager. In 1999 the Augusta service center split off the Bangor service center, which was approximately 1/3 of our business. With strong growth we now have 28 full time team members. With the combined knowledge of the Augusta team, we find pest challenges easier to overcome. Client satisfaction is our number one goal! |

Paul joined the Modern team in 1998 as a service professional and worked in that capacity for about 5 years before moving to the commercial sales team in 2003. He held the sales position for 2 years servicing commercial clients in the central Maine area. In 2005 Paul became Modern’s first ever HomeCare Service Manager overseeing residential service operations for the Augusta Service Center. He currently manages a team of 12 HomeCare Service Professionals. Paul is a fully licensed applicator and has completed the Purdue University Pest Control Operations course and is also American Institute of Baking certified. |

Mike joined the Modern team in the summer of 2005 as a seasonal service professional and moved into HomeCare route professional position and worked in that capacity until moving to the Universal Service Manger position in 2008. He is responsible to insure the highest quality of the new service professionals. He has 7 ½ years experience in management of personnel in prior careers. Where Mike has worked in the field he has technical knowledge that lets him explain what clients can expect for service and results, which ensures you'll receive the "Modern" Experience. Mike is a fully licensed applicator and is American Institute of Baking certified.

She has accompanied several of our service professionals on their routes to enable a better understand the services provided to our clients. Clara lives in Canaan with her husband and two children and attends evening classes at Thomas College where she obtained a Bachelors degree in May of 2007. |

Laurie Brewer joined the team at Modern Pest Services over 9 years ago. Laurie has been top seller in Homecare sales for several years company wide and has excelled in sales at Modern. She has completed her Purdue course and will be taking the AIB course as well. She has acquired an enormous amount of experience as a client Care Professional and recognizes the importance of client satisfaction. Laurie has lived locally for several years with her husband and daughter and looks forward to many more enjoyable years at Modern and in the beautiful State of Maine. |
