Overwintering pests can also cause extensive damage to your home including chewing on electrical wires and contaminating insulation with droppings. - Store all open food in airtight containers
- Take the trash out regularly and be sure it is in a sealed receptacle
- Keep shrubs and bushes on the outside of the home trimmed back
- Store firewood at least 20 feet away from the home and up off of the ground
