Modern Pest Services to Remain Open as an Essential Service Provider in Maine

Maine Governor Janet Mills Orders Non-Essential Businesses to Close Temporarily

Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Governor Janet Mills has issued an Executive Order mandating that all non-essential businesses and operations in Maine close their physical locations that are public facing, meaning those that allow customer, vendor, or other in-person contact. The Order is effective March 25, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. and extends for a period of 14 days through April 8, 2020 at 12:00 a.m.

All businesses that provide essential services and workforces related to COVID-19 will continue their activities. While these entities are designated as essential, they are urged to follow social distancing protocols for workers in accordance with guidance from the Department of Public Health.

Governor Mills is adhering to the Department of Homeland Security’s list of essential businesses, which includes Pest Control under Public Works.

Therefore, services provided by Modern Pest and other pest management companies can continue to conduct business in Maine and are deemed essential services.

Modern Pest will continue with our scheduled residential and commercial services throughout Maine. Clients may also request additional services in addition to previously scheduled services. We will perform services as conditions allow on a case-by-case basis.
