Pest Control During Coronavirus

On March 19, 2020, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security declared the pest control industry as essential because it provides services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences and businesses.

At Modern Pest, we agree that pest control is an essential service. A world without pest control would have more disease, more food shortages and hunger, and uncontrollable living conditions. We are taking our role as an essential service as seriously as we are taking COVID-19 (coronavirus). The health and well-being of our clients and employees is always our priority, and this is no exception.

Disinfection and Sanitizing Services

Modern Pest has always provided disinfection and sanitizing services for clients as an accessory to pest control. We are now proud to offer this stand-alone service to help combat COVID-19 (coronavirus) for our commercial clients throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

For our Disinfection and Sanitizing Services, we use a broad spectrum, non-selective disinfectant with superior virucidal components for fast sanitization and cleaning of work surfaces and environments inside businesses.

Our disinfectant is approved by government agencies across the globe as the #1 choice for emergency disease prevention and control. Routine treatments should become a component of your COVID-19 (coronavirus) action plan. Click here to learn more.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect Modern’s existing services?

Modern will continue to be vigilant about how the virus is impacting the communities we serve, and we will respond accordingly. This is a constantly changing situation, and we are keeping track of CDC guidelines when making key operational decisions. Going forward, the well-being of our clients and employees will remain at the center of our planning and decision making.

  • It is the time of year when many of our residential services will focus on the exterior of the home, which will greatly reduce person-to-person contact.
  • If you would like to request an interior residential service, you may still do so. Service request will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
  • We will attempt to proceed with interior-only services as circumstances allow.
  • We are inquiring about new restrictions on our commercial accounts due to the virus.

Modern is Here for You

We understand that this is a stressful time for everyone. If you have any questions regarding Modern’s services or pest control in general, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-800-323-7378.

Our main concern is to limit the spread COVID-19 to those who might not be equipped to battle it.

  • We are staying up to date on CDC guidelines and individual state mandates.
  • We have made personal protective equipment (PPE) available to all Modern employees, including hand sanitizer and nitrile gloves.
  • We are encouraging our employees to wash their hands or use sanitizer frequently.
  • Our employees will continue to wear nitrile gloves during all services, and change gloves between appointments.
  • We are asking that employees and clients refrain from shaking hands and perhaps wave as a greeting.
  • To limit contact exposure, we will not require you to sign anything on the handheld device at the time of service.
  • We have asked all our employees to stay home and self-quarantine if they or household members are feeling sick. Employees with a fever of 99.9+ degrees are asked to remain home and call their healthcare provider.

Modern Pest wants to thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

The Modern Team
