Scott learned the family business from the ground up: sweeping the store room floors, preparing pesticide materials and later learning the intricacies of commercial and residential pest control during his summer vacations. After graduating in 1990 from the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Scott joined Modern Pest Services full-time as the General Manager of the company. He returned to USM part-time and received a master’s degree in Business Administration in 2005. During Scott’s tenure with Modern he has held many positions and currently serves as Co-president and Chief Revenue Officer, overseeing sales and marketing; and shares decision-making responsibilities with the Executive Management Team. Scott is active within the pest management industry and is a past president of the New England Pest Management Association.

 

Douglas Stevenson, Co-President and Chief Financial Officer

Doug was exposed to Modern Pest Services early when as a youngster he spent after-school time taking calls and scheduling clients. During summers while in high school, Doug worked as a service professional, gaining experience in customer service and pest management techniques. In 1995 after time away to pursue other opportunities (including running his own business), Doug came back to Modern to open and manage the company’s service center in Woburn, Massachusetts, through a time of extraordinary growth. He later returned to Maine to develop Modern’s advanced information systems infrastructure and launch technology innovations now shared across the pest management industry. In his current role as Vice President of Finance, Doug oversees finance, information systems and administration; and shares decision-making responsibilities with the Executive Management Team. Doug graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and later received a master’s degree in Business Administration in 2009.

Dennis Dube,
Vice President of Operations

Dennis joined Modern Pest Services in 2013 as the General Manager for the Portland Service Center and was promoted to the role of Operations Manager in 2015. In his current position as Vice President of Operations, he is responsible for the overall operations of the company as well as the commercial sales and growth of the six service centers located throughout New England, along with a special operations team dedicated to non-traditional and wildlife pest control. Dennis graduated from the University of Maine Augusta with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Management and from Husson University with an MBA. Prior to joining Modern Pest Services Dennis worked at William Arthur, Inc. as the Director of Order Fulfillment as well as serving in the U.S. Navy.
Keith Hinds, Human Resource Manager at Modern Pest Services

Keith Hinds,
Vice President of Human Resources

Keith joined Modern Pest Services in 2008 as the Human Resources Manager. In his current role as Vice President of Human Resources, he is responsible for recruiting and hiring new team members, managing employee relations, developing and implementing human resource policy and overseeing all company training. Keith graduated from the University of Maine in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Management and continued his education there, receiving a master’s degree in Public Management in 2002. Prior to joining Modern Pest Services, Keith worked as the Director of Human Resources at Elmhurst, Inc. in Bath, Maine. From 2004 to 2007, Keith also served as the At-Large City Councilor in Bath, his hometown. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the West Bath School Administrative Unit, is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and a Notary Public for the state of Maine. 

Danielle Beckwith, Marketing Manager

Danielle joined Modern Pest Services in 2016 as the Marketing Manager. She is responsible for increasing revenues by driving lead generation with marketing and advertising initiatives. Danielle completed her graduate degree in Business Studies in Marketing at Southern New Hampshire University in 2016. Prior to joining Modern Pest Services, Danielle worked for Electricity Maine and Health Affiliates Maine for more than three years as the Marketing Coordinator. Danielle is actively involved with the community, as a volunteer Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish Maine and the American Red Cross Real Heroes Committee member. Her civic involvement has included work with the Young Professionals of Lewiston-Auburn serving as committee member for the Y-Not Community Challenge, Steering Committee and Co-Chair of the Outreach Committee.

 

Mike Peaslee, Technical Manager at Modern Pest Services

Mike Peaslee,
Technical Manager, ACE

Mike joined Modern Pest Services in 1978, and he is now the company’s most seasoned industry veteran. He first worked with residential and commercial clients as a service professional in northern Maine. In 1990, he was promoted to General Manager at Modern’s service center in Westbrook, Maine, at a time when its service area covered southern Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Mike has worked in various sales, service and management roles throughout his tenure at Modern. Since 1998 he has held the position of Technical Manager and is responsible for meeting safety, service and productivity requirements; developing technical service programs and standard operating procedures; and ensuring client satisfaction. As Modern’s QualityPro liaison, Mike is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the company’s policies and services are in compliance with the National Pest Management Association’s strict QualityPro standards. Mike is an Associate Certified Entomologist and has completed training through Purdue University and the American Institute of Baking. He frequently attends regional and national pest management conferences and holds Supervisory-Level Pesticide Applicators licenses in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

 

David Lock, Contact Center Manager

David Lock,
Director Of Information Systems

David Lock joined Modern Pest Services in 2013 as a service professional. He has since served in a variety of roles as a service manager, general manager for our Portland Service Center, and our Contact Center Manager.  David’s latest role is in a leadership role overseeing Modern’s IT infrastructure.  As Director of Information Systems,  David has direct oversight of the hardware, software, and business operating systems of Modern Pest Services.  David earned a degree in Environmental Sciences from Portland State University, graduating in 2009. Previous to joining Modern Pest Services he worked for a tech start-up in San Francisco.
