How YardGuard Tick Treatments Work
At each scheduled visit, your technician evaluates conditions around the yard and focuses treatment on likely tick zones such as wooded edges, shaded foliage, tall grass and areas near leaf litter or groundcover. Regular applications help reduce tick populations during the active season. We also explain practical steps you can take—such as clearing leaf litter, trimming vegetation and creating separation between lawn and woods—to make the property less favorable to ticks.

Ticks Commonly Found in New England
Blacklegged ticks, American dog ticks and lone star ticks may be encountered in New England. Different tick species can transmit illnesses, including Lyme disease, anaplasmosis and Powassan virus. What To Do If A Tick Bites You Or Your Pet
If you discover a tick attached to yourself or a pet, do not panic, but act quickly:
Save the Tick: Place the tick in a sealed bag or jar. If you develop a rash or fever, your doctor may want to identify or test the tick.
Use Fine-Tipped Tweezers: Grasp the tick as close to the skin’s surface as possible.
Pull Upward: Use steady, even pressure to pull the tick straight out. Avoid twisting, which can cause the mouthparts to break off and remain in the skin.
Clean the Area: Thoroughly clean the bite site and your hands with rubbing alcohol or soap and water.
