What Is Therm-O-Care Attic Insulation?
Therm-O-Care is Modern Pest’s attic insulation service using TAP Pest Control Insulation. We assess what is already in your attic, explain whether additional insulation makes sense, and provide a quote for the recommended installation.
TAP stands for Thermal, Acoustical, Pest Control. Made primarily from recycled paper and treated with borates, it combines insulating performance with sound-reducing properties and control of listed insects that contact the insulation.
The loose-fill insulation is blown into the attic and can be added over existing insulation when conditions are suitable.
Our recommendation is based on your attic’s existing insulation, coverage, and installation needs.

2. Review Your Recommendation
We explain your current insulation level, the proposed upgrade, and the installation price. If active pests are identified, we discuss addressing them separately.
You review the scope and price before deciding whether to proceed.
3. Install Your TAP Insulation
Our team prepares the attic and blows in TAP insulation to the planned depth and coverage. Installation preserves ventilation openings and required clearances around heat-producing equipment.

Installation pricing depends on the attic area, the insulation already in place, and the amount of additional insulation needed. Your proposal explains the recommended work and any additional materials included in the price.

Does TAP replace pest treatment or keep rodents out?
No. TAP controls listed insects, including ants, cockroaches, silverfish, earwigs, and crickets, only when they contact the insulation where installed. It does not keep mice or rats out and must not be used as the sole protection against termites. Active pest treatment, exclusion, insulation removal, air sealing, and repairs are separate unless specifically included in your proposal. What should I know about installation precautions?
TAP is a pesticide-treated insulation product and must be installed and used according to its label. Our team can explain preparation instructions and precautions for your home. TAP has fire-resistant properties but is not fireproof; installation must preserve ventilation and required clearances around heat-producing fixtures and equipment.
