Why Year-Round Pest Control Coverage Can Be a Better Value
Pest pressure changes throughout the year—ants and stinging insects during warmer months, then rodents looking for shelter as temperatures drop. Separate one-time treatments address individual problems as they appear. HomeCare Green instead begins with the covered pest activity you have now and provides scheduled prevention and support for other covered household pests throughout the year.
HomeCare Green includes three strategically timed services, coverage for rodents, ants and more than 55 common household pests, and unlimited callbacks when covered activity appears between scheduled visits. YardGuard, termites, bed bugs, wildlife and certain specialty services remain separate. We’ll explain which program fits your current problem when you request a quote.

How often should I get pest control for my house?
HomeCare Green uses three strategically timed services during the year. This schedule allows technicians to adjust recommendations as seasonal pest pressure changes without relying on unnecessary monthly visits. If covered pest activity appears between scheduled services, unlimited callbacks are included.
HomeCare Green covers rodents, ants and more than 55 common household pests. Mosquitoes, fleas and ticks are treated through YardGuard. Bed bugs, termites, wildlife and certain specialty problems use separate services. We’ll identify the appropriate option when you describe the activity during your free phone quote.
Modern combines targeted treatments with practical prevention guidance. Depending on the property, recommendations may include exclusion strategies or enhanced SMART rodent monitoring. We explain what we find, what the selected program covers and what homeowners can do to help reduce recurring activity.
Getting started does not require an in-home sales inspection. A Client Care Professional will assess what you are seeing over the phone, confirm that your property is within the service area, explain the recommended program and provide a free quote. Your technician will then evaluate conditions during the scheduled service and apply the treatment appropriate for the property.
In addition, we’ll apply a protective barrier around your home that stops pests from entering. Then, we’ll regularly visit to protect you against pests and recommend ways to keep them out.

Is pest control the same as rodent control?
“Pest control” is an umbrella term that includes but is not limited to rodent control whereas “rodent control” focuses on one specific form of pest control.
Rodent treatment is included in HomeCare Green. Homeowners who want enhanced detection can add SMART monitoring, which uses connected sensors to detect rodent movement and alert the service team even when no one is around. Properties with entry-point concerns may also benefit from a separate exclusion assessment.
Deciding to use SMART technology is a smart decision! Rats and mice directly or indirectly spread more than thirty-five unwanted diseases around the world. Whether directly transmitted through bites, feces, urine, or saliva or indirectly through the fleas, ticks, and mites that feed on infected rodents, you’ll want to protect your family from these diseases. It makes sense to react quickly, too, because rodents reproduce quite quickly, rapidly turning a relatively small presence into an infestation. They can chew through wires in homes, as well, which can trigger house fires.
We provide these solutions throughout New England including Manchester rodent control. as well as rodent control in Springfield, Hartford, Portland ME, Boston and Providence.

How can I prevent pests in my New England home?
Do-it-yourself (DIY) pest prevention techniques include ones that deprive unwanted insects and creatures of shelter, food, and water.
Find and seal up entry points to your home, including around doors and windows, on your roof, and more. Trim back tree branches and shrubbery that can provide on-ramps for pests into your home. Get rid of stacks of newspaper, cardboard, and magazines because they can provide places for pests to hide and breed. Clean up promptly after eating, including crumbs and pet food, and store food in airtight containers. Take trash out regularly, and place it in tightly lidded garbage cans away from your home’s foundation. Fix any leaks and address standing water. Do not leave pet food and water out overnight.
Those are helpful DIY prevention tips and, when you have pest problems to address and want expert help in keeping them out, contact our residential exterminators.
Professional service combines targeted treatment with recommendations that make the home less attractive or accessible to pests. Depending on the problem, this may include reducing moisture, improving sanitation, trimming vegetation, storing food properly and sealing appropriate entry points. No service can guarantee that pests will never approach a home again, but ongoing prevention can reduce the conditions that support recurring activity.
How much is pest control for a house?
Residential pest-control pricing varies based on the pest, property size, location and recommended program. We’ll assess your needs over the phone, explain the appropriate service and provide a free quote. Eligible recurring programs can be billed through an easy-pay monthly option.
Do I need professional pest control services for minor infestations?
If you only have an insect or two, you likely would not need residential pest control services to get rid of them. That said, with many bugs or critters, you may not be aware of the size of the population. Bed bugs, as just one example, are tiny and find good hiding places, making them exceptionally hard to spot. Plus, a small population of many pests can quickly turn into a true infestation because they breed quickly and, if the original entry points aren’t effectively sealed up, they can keep coming inside. DIY pest control treatments aren’t always effective and can be harmful when inappropriately applied.
If you are unsure whether the activity requires professional service, describe what you are seeing when you request a quote. We can explain whether HomeCare Green, YardGuard, a specialty treatment or simple monitoring is the appropriate next step. Customers interested in plant-based treatment options can also ask about HomeCare Organic. Contact us!
